Cancer of the gallbladder, a rare form of cancer is a disease found in the (malignant) cells in the tissue of the gallbladder. The gallbladder is an organ shaped bulb, which is just below the liver in the upper abdomen. Digesting bile, a liquid produced by the liver into fat is stored in the gallbladder. The gallbladder is a reality and the extent of the bile duct, the bile from the liver into the intestine leads.

Bladder cancer is three times more common in women than in men. It is also more common in people who have hard clusters of material referred to in the gallbladder, gallstones. Cancer of the gallbladder is difficult to diagnose because the organ is hidden behind other organs in the abdomen. Sometimes it is found after the gallbladder is removed for other reasons.

  2. For cancer of the gallbladder other advances in chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the other option surgery. During the operation uses the following methods, depending on condition and other factors of the disease --

The type of surgery for cancer of the gallbladder --

    1. Gall bladder cancer with cholecystectomy, surgical removal of the gallbladder and some fabrics are treated by them. Nearby lymph nodes may be deleted. Laparoscopy is sometimes used to guide the operation of the gallbladder. Laparoscopy is incorporated into a video camera and inserted through an incision (port) into the abdominal cavity. Surgical instruments are inserted through other ports to perform the operation. Since there is a risk that gallbladder cancer cells to spread to these ports can, can the tissue around the port sites are also eliminated.

    2. If the cancer has already spread and can be eliminated, the following types of palliative surgery in May relieve symptoms:

    A. Biliary Surgery: If the tumor blocking the small intestine and bile builds up in the gallbladcan be done bypassing the bile ducts. During this process, cut the gallbladder or bile duct and into the small intestine to create a new way of stitching around the blocked area.

    B. Endoscopic stent placement: If the tumor blocks the bile duct that can be done the surgery to drain into a stent (small thin flexible tube put) to bile that has accumulated in the region. The stent may be replaced by a catheter that can be placed outside the body or the stent drains to move the blocked area and drain the bile into the small intestine.

    3. Percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage: A procedure done to drain bile when there was a blockage and endoscopic stent placement is not possible. A radiograph of the liver and bile ducts is done to find the disability. The ultrasound images are used to is the placement of a stent leader, left the liver to drain bile into the small intestine or a collection bag outside the body. This procedure can be done to relieve jaundice before surgery. --
